Mount Meru

4 Days 3 Nights

Mount Meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania and the fifth highest in Africa. Mount Meru offers impressive views and diverse vegetation. Mount Meru also gives a perfect opportunity to see some wildlife in the form of a walking safari. It is possible to see giraffes, buffaloes, baboons, elephants, antelopes and colobus monkeys along the way. The vegetation along the hike changes from dense mountain rainforest into heather and moorland to alpine desert. Due to the vegetation animals become less and less throughout the walk and the focus at the end is definitely on the landscape rather than on animals.
